Conor Healy, Cork Chamber Chief Executive today announced the launch of a business travel survey, which sees Cork Airport and Cork Chamber join forces to assess the demand for air services to the UK, Continental Europe and the East Coast of the United States.
Mr Healy said “This survey assesses the
business travel needs of companies throughout the region, and will help enhance
the business case for new and additional direct air services from Cork
Airport. Increased route development is critical for regional economic
development, and is to the benefit of all enterprises in the South West region.
“Improved connectivity at Cork Airport will also attract greater numbers of
tourists to Ireland’s principal international gateway to the South of
Ireland.”
Mr Kevin Cullinane, Marketing
Manager, Cork Airport stated that “market access is recognised as a key
determinant of the continued growth of the Irish economy. As a result, the
expansion and development of the route network at Cork Airport has been
important to the ongoing growth of the region’s economic base and will continue
to do so”.
Mr. Healy concluded by urging all
companies to complete the survey which is available on the Chamber website, www.corkchamber.ie
